Can a text that has already been translated be certified?

Texts that have already been translated in advance by you or by your acquaintances cannot be certified. A sworn translator is not authorised to certify a document translated by a third party and cannot be taken into account when commissioning a certified translation. Exceptions can be made if the translation has been done by a highly qualified professional translator, but we must point out that the cost saving is quite small because the already existing translation has to be proofread by the sworn translator.
